The demo runs on virtual credits. No payment details, no risk to your balance, no catches.

You're playing the exact same build as the real game - version 1.6.1.8, certified January 2023. Same math, same bonus triggers, same metrics. Real Time Gaming doesn't use separate demo versions, so what you test here is what you'd get with real stakes.

You don't need an account to launch it. No registration wall, no email asked for. Click and play.

The free spins feature works identically - you can trigger the bonus round, see how the fisherman catches fish values, test the 10-line setup at different bet levels. All features active, nothing locked.

No spin limit, no timer cutting you off. You can run through the entire paytable, trigger bonuses multiple times, work out if the volatility suits you. When the virtual credits run low, just refresh.

This is a 2014 slot with a decade of history, so the demo's been tested by thousands before you. What you see is what's actually there.

Before Megaways variants and Big Catch editions, before it spawned an eight-game franchise, there was just Fishin' Frenzy – a straightforward 2014 slot where a cheerful fisherman catches fish during free spins. That's it. No cascading reels, no expanding mechanics, just 10 paylines and a simple catch-and-collect bonus that somehow became one of the UK's most recognisable slot brands.

Nearly a decade and countless sequels later, Reel Time Gaming still offers the original, which raises the question: what does this stripped-back version have that its flashier descendants don't? The answer lies in that 96.12% RTP, a max win of 250,000x your total bet, and a bonus mechanic so clean you'll understand it in one spin. Sometimes the first version endures because it got the fundamentals right before everyone else started adding bells and whistles.

How To Play

Fishin' Frenzy keeps things straightforward with its control setup, but there are a few specifics worth understanding before you start spinning.

Setting Your Stake

You'll find the bet control via the coin stack button on the right sidebar. Click it to open the bet menu, where you'll see two key settings. First, under SELECT LINES, you can choose how many paylines to activate—anywhere from 1 to 10 lines. Then under SELECT BET, you'll set your bet per line. Your total stake (displayed under BETS) is calculated by multiplying lines by bet per line, with a range from £1.00 to £2,000 depending on your currency and operator configuration.

One clarification: while the game technically allows line selection, most configurations run with all 10 lines active by default. Check your bet menu to see if line adjustment is available in your version.

Starting the Game

The circular arrow button is your spin control. Press it once you've set your stake, and the reels begin. Here's something useful—while the reels are spinning, that same button transforms into a fast-forward icon. Press it to stop all reels immediately rather than waiting for them to stop naturally from left to right. Handy when you're playing quickly.

Autoplay Setup

The circular arrows button (different from the single spin arrow) opens the autoplay menu. You'll select the number of automatic spins under SELECT NUMBER OF PLAYS, with various options available. Once activated, the button displays how many spins remain.

Important: autoplay automatically stops when you trigger the free spins bonus. It won't continue through the feature—you'll need to restart it manually afterward if you want to keep using it. You can also interrupt autoplay anytime by pressing the square stop button that appears during automatic play. Pressing spin afterward continues where you left off.

During Play

Wins are calculated and highlighted automatically after reels stop. Any winning combinations light up with colored line indicators matching the numbered paylines on either side of the reels. If you've landed 3+ scatter boats, you'll enter the free spins bonus automatically—no selection needed on your part.

The game runs smoothly without additional speed or sound controls beyond the premature reel stop mentioned earlier. Everything else happens automatically once you've configured your stake and pressed spin.

Combination Payout
5 of a Kind20,000
4 of a Kind5,000

Scatter Symbol

Scatter symbol - fishing boat with SCATTER text

The Boat (fishing boat with "SCATTER" text) is your ticket to the main feature. Land 3, 4, or 5 anywhere on the reels to trigger Free Spins:

  • 3 Boats = 10 free spins
  • 4 Boats = 15 free spins
  • 5 Boats = 20 free spins

Scatter wins don't need to be on a payline and pay in addition to any line wins.

Free Spins Bonus

This is where things get interesting. During Free Spins, the game introduces two new elements that don't appear in the base game.

The Fisherman Wild

Fisherman Wild symbol - smiling fisherman in green vest and orange shirt holding golden fish

A smiling fisherman in a green vest and orange shirt holding a large golden fish becomes an active symbol during Free Spins. He substitutes for all symbols except the Boat scatter, helping form winning combinations.

But here's his special ability: every time a Fisherman lands anywhere on the reels, he catches the prize values from all Fish symbols visible on screen at that moment.

The Fisherman also pays on his own as a regular symbol during the feature:

Combination Payout
5 Fishermen5,000
4 Fishermen500
3 Fishermen100
2 Fishermen10

Fish with Cash Values

Fish symbol with cash value

Fish symbols appear during Free Spins with monetary values attached to them. Each fish displays one of these values: 20, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, or 500.

The fish don't pay on their own—they're collected by the Fisherman. If you land multiple Fishermen and multiple Fish on the same spin, each Fisherman collects the total of all Fish values. So two Fishermen with three Fish showing 100, 200, and 50 would award 350 twice, for 700 total.

Feature Details

Free Spins play at the same bet and number of lines as the spin that triggered them. The feature can't retrigger—if you land more Boats during Free Spins, they don't award additional spins. All winnings from the feature are added together and paid at the end.

The maximum win across the entire game is 250,000.00 or x250,000 your total bet.

UK's Original Fishing Slot

Pros Cons
  • Selectable paylines (1-10) → Control your total stake precisely by reducing active lines
  • UK market staple → The original that made fishing slots a national obsession
  • Fisherman collects fish values in bonus → Satisfying visual mechanic when wilds land
  • Transparent, simple gameplay → No confusing cascades or hidden multiplier systems
  • Wide bet range flexibility → Accommodates casual sessions and higher stakes
  • Wilds only in free spins → Base game entirely lacks wild substitutions
  • No free spin retriggers → Hard cap at 20 spins maximum per bonus
  • Maximum 10 paylines → Far fewer ways to win than modern 5x3 slots
  • 2014 graphics showing age → Dated presentation compared to its own sequels
  • Single bonus feature → Free spins are your only feature beyond line wins

Description:

Reel Time Gaming turned one fishing game into a dynasty. Fishin' Frenzy launched in 2014 and spawned eight variants—Megaways editions, Fortune Play spins, the lot. Their Eye of Horus franchise follows the same playbook: milk every proven hit. Methodical rather than innovative, but the numbers work.
